Binh Thanh District – People Following the Trends
Points of Prayer
- A mixture of businesses, schools, housing, and entertainment areas are found throughout this district. It is home to the Binh Quoi Tourist Village which represents in part the deep loyalty the locals have to their heritage, culture, and tradition. Pray they are able to see how God has blessed them through their culture and heritage while understanding that their need for God goes beyond anything else.
- Pray for students of the Foreign Trade University and Transportation University among other schools of this area. Pray that as students are educated, they will also accept God’s offer of salvation through Jesus Christ and that as future leaders they will share the Gospel with many others.
- Pray for the people trapped by the spiritual strongholds represented by idol shops along Bạch Đằng, Chùa Bảo Minh, Chùa Bảo Tịnh, Chùa Bát Nhã, Chùa Diệu Pháp, and Chùa Long Vân.
Binh Thanh District is less than 4 miles from the city center, taking 15-20 minutes to reach depending on the time of day and the traffic. It’s bigger than Districts 1 and 3 but overall, average in size compared to other districts.
Much growth has been evident in the past several years with the iconic Landmark skyscraper, residence, and shopping area. This newly developed area is alongside the Saigon river and stands visible throughout the city, 81 floors plus a tower. While in other parts of the district, poor to average neighborhoods abound where the mass of the population lives, works, or attends one of the 10 universities.
The district also is situated beside one of the many water channels in the city, where greenery and park meet. Vietnamese young and old will come to exercise, meet up for conversations and enjoy the shade.
One of the congested streets in Binh Thanh district is noticeable for all the idol shops selling ceramic and varied statues to purchase for worship. This district needs your intercession of prayers to God.
