District 7 – People Between Two Worlds
Points of Prayer
- This district has been one of the more poor areas and pockets of greater poverty still exists in parts. At the same time it is also home to areas of modern development and a large population of expats, particularly Koreans.
- Please pray for the many Korean Believers in this district to continue to be bold and faithful in their witness to locals. Pray especially that Korean business owners and managers will see their work as a platform for the Gospel.
- Pray for many students and young people who travel to park areas in this district to respond to the Gospel and as they grow as disciples to start new churches.
- Pray for the people trapped by the spiritual strongholds represented by Đình Tân Quy Đông, Tịnh Xá Ngọc Quy, Tu Viện Định Thành.
People most often associate district 7 as the flashy, new, high-end drag area of the city. Most street food and vending are banned in this area, allowing for cleaner, wider sidewalks. For young people, District 7 is a paradise for taking selfies with bustling entertainment areas and unique restaurants.
District 7 has a strategic position for the development of waterway and land transport with easy access to the Saigon river and the East Sea, making it ready to become a large export processing zone.
One of the bigger districts in the urban city, district 7 is modern and developed with luxury apartments, shopping areas and streets, yet it also includes poor shanty-housing for the district poor. Outer edges of this district show life that has been passed over for areas of modernization.
People in district 7 need our prayers because earthly wealth is easily seen but the need for the treasures of God and His salvation are what will satisfy.
And also pray for me, that words may be given to me in opening my mouth boldly to proclaim the mystery of the Gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains, that I may declare it boldly, as I ought to speak.
