The Vietnam News service carried a report recently estimating the number of unemployed people in Vietnam’s largest city to remain flat for 2013 with around 150,000 unemployed. While some employers had increased staff, a number of companies quit operations putting many out of work. Many workers come to the city because of the lack of good employment in other regions of the country. Ho Chi Minh City however is likely the most expensive place to live in the country so steady employment is a critical need.
With such physical need in their life, the unemployed are naturally scared and concerned about their future and how they will have food to eat and a place to live. We long for them to know how much God loves them, sees them and cares for them. If He knows the needs of even the smallest sparrow, how much more the 150,000 unemployed of Ho Chi Minh City?
Please join us in praying for this large number of unemployed within Ho Chi Minh City. Pray that God will provide for their needs. Pray for Believers and churches to reach out to the unemployed around them and share the love of God in word and deed. Pray that in the difficult circumstances brought on by unemployment this population will see their need for God and turn to Him through saving faith in Jesus Christ!
Aren’t five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten in God’s sight. Indeed, the hairs of your head are all counted. Don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows! Luke 12:6-7
