Sidewalk snacking and relaxing with friends are ve Sidewalk snacking and relaxing with friends are very common on the streets of Saigon.

True friends heighten our joy in God. Friends who are abiding in Christ and enjoying their relationships with God enhance our relationship with Him. Do you have a friend that encourages you in their daily walk with God? Let them know how they bring you greater joy in God through their example.

“Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.” 1 Thessalonians 5:11

Ask God to bring believing Vietnamese friends together in order to lift up one another in God's love and encouragement. Pray that God would bless and bring joy to those who serve Him. #pray4vietnam.

Looking from on high into Saigon from District Bin Looking from on high into Saigon from District Binh Thanh towards District 3 is full of people who are living lives looking for happiness.

We were made to live in relationship with God. Happiness is found in getting to know God a little bit better every day.

The writer of Philippians discovered that “For my determined purpose is that I may….progressively become more deeply and intimately acquainted with Him, perceiving and recognizing and understanding the wonders of His Person more strongly and more clearly” Philippians 3:10

There is a difference between knowing about someone and knowing someone. Paul, the writer of Philippians knew God because he had a relationship with Him and took the time to get to know Him.

Pray for the city of Saigon to know God through digital engagement. In 2020 70% of the population was online and that has increased in the past 3 years, by as much as 20%. Ask God to move hearts to know Him. #pray4vietnam

International Children's Day is observed in Vietna International Children's Day is observed in Vietnam on June 1. Special events for children are featured and parents show their love especially on this day.

We trust God when we know Him. As we grow to know Him more, we can rest in His goodness, even when we do not understand circumstances. Just like parents want their children to trust them as loving parents, we can trust our heavenly Father to always do what is right.

“Trust in the Lord always, for the Lord God is the eternal Rock.” Isaiah 26:4

Father, we pray especially for the children in Saigon for each one to have the opportunity to grow up in a home that knows you God as One True God of the world. Bring parents to the saving knowledge of You and teach children to know that You are Loving and Trustworthy. #pray4vietnam

Paper sacrifices, incense, and prayers bring displ Paper sacrifices, incense, and prayers bring displeasure to our One True God, but the people of Vietnam are truly seeking hope.

““Answer me, O Lord, answer me, that this people may know that You, O Lord, are God, and that You have turned their hearts back.” Then the fire of the Lord fell and consumed the burnt offering and the wood and the stones and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench. And when all the people saw it, they fell on their faces and said, “The Lord, He is God; the Lord, He is God.”” 1 Kings 18:37-39

Pray for the people of Vietnam to know that the Lord is God. #pray4vietnam

The words that a person speaks reveal their heart. The words that a person speaks reveal their heart. Words of gossip, words of meanness or words that hurt can only describe the darkness in places of the heart. We live out the conditions of our hearts.

“A tree is identified by its fruit. If a tree is good, its fruit will be good. If a tree is bad, its fruit will be bad.” Matthew 12:33

Pray, asking God to make our hearts clean and full of His light. Out of that light, our words will encourage and build up and not tear down. Ask God to help make our words thoughtful and full of kindness rather than selfishness and envy. Pray for the words Vietnamese use every day, words to build up and not tear down. #pray4vietnam

Tight walkways through this local market will have Tight walkways through this local market will have goods to sell on one side with tasty options to eat on the opposite side. Early morning finds spaces, but as the day progresses lots of people will fill the market. Deciding when to shop and eat are the basics to make life more productive or peaceful.

Thought about these questions lately? Why are you living for Christ? What is your motivation for being part of the kingdom of God? Are you living for yourself, or are you willing to live for others?

When our focus shifts from ourselves to others, everything changes. We lead more productive and peaceable lives.

“So I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other.” John 13:34

Pray for Vietnamese to love each other as Jesus example of love. Ask for God to bring His kingdom to have a greater influence in Saigon. #pray4vietnam

Coffee with milk, coffee with ice, and freshly squ Coffee with milk, coffee with ice, and freshly squeezed, green-skinned orange juice are available for convenient street-side pickup.

What if a menu sign had: love, grace, and mercy available? Would customers flock to receive these items? Yet those are what God is so good to give.

“Once you were dead because of your disobedience and your many sins. But God is so rich in mercy, and He loved us so much, that even though we were dead because of our sins, He gave us life when He raised Christ from the dead. It is only by God's grace that you have been saved!” Ephesians 2:1,4-5

Praise God for His love, grace, and mercy in each of our lives. Ask the Holy Spirit to move in Vietnamese lives that have read or heard His word today to bring them back in obedience or to save them. #pray4vietnam

Some time or another everyone needs to have someth Some time or another everyone needs to have something mended or sewn, but not everyone has the skill or equipment. Street side sewing and mending are quite convenient and easy to find among Saigon's 10 million plus people.

Embracing a self-awareness of our abilities and inabilities can help us to grow. We need God to help us reach and exceed what we can only dream.

“Look here, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we are going to a certain town and will stay there a year. We will do business there and make a profit. How do you know what your life will be like tomorrow? Your life is like the morning fog---it's here a little while, then it's gone. What you ought to say is, “If the Lord wants us to, we will live and do this or that.”” James 4:13-15

Pray for Vietnamese to rely on God. As plans are made, seek God to determine steps each day for His Kingdom to come. #pray4vietnam
