HO CHI MINH CITY, VIETNAM (HOE-chee-men) – H reached out with both hands to receive the small paperback copy of the New Testament as one of the “Quick” team members offered it. He hung on to it like the treasure it was and exclaimed that this was the first time he had ever seen a Bible in Vietnamese. “Why would someone make a Bible in my language?” H asked. What a joy it was to be able to tell him that it was because God’s love and offer of salvation extends to all peoples. H then told the team member, “I can’t promise you that I will become a Christian, but I promise you that I will read every word in this book.” It was enough. The team member knew that the Word of God was far greater than any words that might be shared. Pray for H and many others who have received copies of Scripture, asking that God will use it to draw them into a saving relationship with Him. Pray that His Word will burn in their hearts so that they cannot help but believe. Pray that as they believe, God will give “Quick” team members the opportunity to lead them in obedience-based discipleship, resulting in more new believers and new, multiplying churches to His glory.
