This Thursday, October 10, 2013 marks our Global Day of Prayer for Ho Chi Minh City. Please join us in praying for this great city and the millions of people here that are in need of the Gospel. As we have shared many times before, Ho Chi Minh City, formerly known as Saigon, is home to roughly 10 million people. As large as that number is, it’s almost overwhelming and hard to comprehend. But a more heart wrenching statistic is found when you start to break that number down based on average mortality rates and the fact that no more than 2% of the population have found salvation in Jesus Christ. The result is that every 10 minutes in Ho Chi Minh City a lost person dies and goes to hell, sentenced to an eternity separated from God.
10 million people—hard to understand
Every 10 minutes—hard to forget
Please take advantage of the prayer resources highlighted here and encourage other Believers around you to join with you in praying for the city. These prayer resources will give you more specifics but you can always focus your prayers on some general standing requests:
Pray for laborers into the harvest field of Ho Chi Minh City whether they be local Believers rising up to serve or others called from outside the city.
(Luke 10:2)
Pray for boldness in proclaiming the message of Christ so that all may hear and have the opportunity to respond by placing their faith in Him.
(Ephesians 6:19)
Pray for growing, obedient and faithful disciples who will reproduce themselves in others. (2 Timothy 2:2)
Pray for new churches to be started that will multiply throughout the entire country, to all of Asia and the world. (Acts 1:8)
