HO CHI MINH CITY, VIETNAM (HOE-chee-men) – Modern skyscrapers sit next to cramped walk-ups built during colonial times. Government offices, consulates, the stock exchange, banks, hotels and tourist sites abound. District 1 of Ho Chi Minh City is the heart of what was the former Saigon. Business professionals, students, street vendors and tourists roam the streets. Densely populated with almost 70,000 residents per square mile, this district is a mass of lostness in need of the gospel. Please take time today to pray for this district in three areas: 1) Pray for government leaders and business professionals to be blessed and drawn into a saving relationship with Jesus Christ through which they might impact many in their sphere of influence. 2) Pray for the homeless, urban poor and service-industry workers in the district to be reached with the gospel, giving them a peace and a hope. 3) Pray for the many tourists who will travel through this district, and especially pray for those who are Christians to broadly share the gospel with everyone they meet here.
