I’ve just had a couple days in Can Tho, a city in the Mekong Delta so far but already I’m being overwhelmed by the friendliness and hospitality here. How many ‘persons of peace’ might there be among these so welcoming? Praying for laborers!
He told them: ‘The harvest is abundant, but the workers are few. Therefore, pray to the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest.’ Luke 10:2
Whatever house you enter, first say, ‘Peace to this household.’ If a son of peace is there, your peace will rest on him; but if not, it will return to you. Luke 10:5-6
Journey Prayers – Week 3
Praying for the peoples of Can Tho city and the Mekong Delta
- The Mekong Delta is the largest rice producing area within Viet Nam and a very fertile region. It’s clear that most people here base their lives on the agricultural produce of the region. If Jesus had walked here during His time on earth, I believe He would have told them, “I am the rice of life”. Pray with us that the people of the Mekong Delta would find their foundation, their very life, to be on Jesus Christ alone!
- Pray for laborers to be sent into this harvest field. This is not an easy area. The people work long days for a basic life. Pray that God would call out those from among Vietnamese Believers and from Believers in other countries to come to the Mekong Delta and Can Tho city to share the Gospel, disciple new Believers and start new churches.
- Pray especially for the two young girls who greeted me on my first arrival in Can Tho and the family represented by a couple generations of beautiful ladies that likewise welcomed me into their home. Pray that they might know the truth of the Gospel and turn to place their faith in Jesus Christ.
