The Central Highlands of Vietnam are home to several ethnic minority groups notably the Bana, Ede, Jarai and K’ohr. Collectively known as ‘mountain people’ or ‘Montagnards’ in the colonial past, many of these groups have a good percentage of Christians among them while other pockets of the people or individual villages have no Gospel presence.
Journey Prayers – Week 9
Praying for the peoples of the Central Highlands
- Pray for laborers to be called to and from within the provinces of the Central Highlands, Đắk Lắk, Đắk Nông, Gia Lai, Kon Tum and Lâm Đồng. Pray especially for Believers within the ethnic minorities to answer God’s call to carry the Gospel to new villages and across ethnic group lines.
- Pray for strong Biblical teaching among the churches of the Central Highlands, especially among those churches reaching the ethnic minorities of the region. Some of the Christianity in these areas is largely cultural and based on tradition. A new infusion of Biblical discipleship is a need.
- Pray for strengthened faith among the ethnic minority Believers of the Highlands in the face of common persecution. Believers in these areas are routinely persecuted for their faith from local authorities or leaders of their own villages. Pray that the Believers would remain strong and increase in boldness in the face of such persecution.
