Then God asked Jonah, “Is it right for you to be angry about the plant?” “Yes,” he replied. “It is right. I’m angry enough to die!” So the Lord said, “You cared about the plant, which you did not labor over and did not grow. It appeared in a night and perished in a night. Should I not care about the great city of Nineveh, which has more than 120,000 people who cannot distinguish between their right and their left, as well as many animals?” Jonah 4:9-11
Journey Prayers – Week 13
Praying for the city of Hanoi
- Pray for the Gospel to be proclaimed in each of the 36 Streets of the Old Quarter. This area is a major tourist area, pray that Believers traveling through the tourist sites will make it a point to share the Gospel with the locals encountered there.
- The administrative divisions of Hanoi include one town and 29 urban and suburban/rural districts. Each district and each neighborhood needs an infusion of the Gospel and churches to be planted. Pray that local Believers would take on the responsibility to be on mission and start churches in each district.
- Pray for UPG’s and UUPG’s living in or visiting Hanoi to be reached with the Gospel. As the central hub for all of northern Viet Nam, many rural peoples from the north have moved to the city or travel there occasionally. This is an excellent opportunity to reach these groups with the Gospel, many of whom live in areas that are inaccessible to outsiders. Pray for Believers in Hanoi to be intentional in sharing the Gospel with the minority groups around them.
