Lord, You are my portion and my cup of blessing; You hold my future. Psalm 16:5
The youthfulness of Viet Nam as a whole and Ho Chi Minh City specifically is unmistakable. But what will become of these young generations? They are hard working, eager to learn and generally have a very positive view of the future. But if they mis-place their faith in learning or technology or even their own hard work it will do nothing but disappoint. Their only hope and their greatest need is for a personal relationship with God through faith in Jesus Christ. Join us in praying to that end.
Journey Prayers – Week 15
Praying for the young people of Ho Chi Minh City
- Pray for young adults who have moved to Ho Chi Minh City for work especially in factories and the service industry. The majority of these are young singles ranging from 17 to 25. They have typically moved from rural areas and have some education but are unable or have chosen not to continue in school. Pray for efforts to share the Gospel broadly among this generation. Pray for new Believers to be discipled to faithful obedience. Pray for these young people to in turn share the Gospel back in their home areas.
- Pray for young people attending vo-tech schools, certificate courses, colleges and universities. Pray that as they focus on learning and look to their future that they will also be confronted with the claims of Christ. Pray for new multiplying churches to be started that will reach every area of these young people in the city.
- Pray for young Believers in the city. Pray that these young people who are already Believers will grow in their discipleship and faithful following of God. Pray that these young people would accept God’s call to them to reach others around them and to grow and emerge as leaders affecting all areas of the city.
- Pray for God to raise up and call out young people both locally and from outside who will be committed to sharing the Gospel, leading young people to Christ, discipling young Believers and starting churches among young people.
