New disciples

HO CHI MINH CITY, VIETNAM (HOE-chee-men) – “I just accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior tonight.” After several weeks of studying the Bible with Van* and Xuan*, some believers were overjoyed to hear them both make this declaration of faith as they sat down to begin another study. Immediately, the believers moved to begin basic discipleship with them, and their eagerness to learn was clearly evident. Over the past few months, believers in this city have broadly shared the gospel and have had many opportunities to “filter” for those who are spiritually receptive. Those who have been receptive have been gathered into Bible studies, from which are coming new believers like Van and Xuan. Please pray for the faithful discipleship of the new believers, and pray for those who are still seeking to be drawn to make a full commitment to Christ. Pray that from each group that is meeting for Bible study, a new church will be started that will, in turn, multiply throughout the city. Pray for wisdom for believers in the city to know who to give priority focus to as they follow up with many seekers. (*names changed)
