The festive decorations in Ho Chi Minh City not only linger into January, they increase. Early in December, the city starts to decorate for Christmas, as more people are aware of the holiday though few know of Jesus. But in January, those decorations are slightly changed or added to as everyone prepares for Tet, the Lunar New Year. Please pray that more than just the decorations will linger into January this year. Over the past month, thousands of people have been confronted with the Christ of Christmas and the gospel, many for the very first time. Praise God for some who have already made life-changing decisions to follow Him! Pray for believers to continue to do follow-up with those they shared with in December. Ask the Holy Spirit to continue to convict those who have heard, and pray that many more will place their faith in Jesus Christ alone. Pray for new believers to engage actively in obedience-based discipleship groups, leading to new, multiplying churches.
