Fear

Yen is afraid.  She’s afraid to share with her family and friends about her new life in Jesus Christ.  She’s afraid to be too outwardly Christian for fear of ridicule and opposition from others.  Her fears are not unfounded.  She’s been laughed at.  She’s been called weird.  Whenever she has let others know about her following Jesus Christ, she’s been shunned.  And so Yen tries to learn and grow but struggles with guilt and fear and a lack of faith.  Please pray that Yen will be emboldened in her faith.  Pray that she will truly learn that while proclaiming Christ does have very real negative consequences, the rewards in Christ far outweigh those negatives.  Pray that through Yen’s testimony and perseverance, God will call more of her family and friends into relationship with Him through Jesus Christ.  Pray that a small discipleship group that Yen attends will emerge as a vibrant church that encourages, comforts, and spurs one another on to greater faith and good works.  Pray that Yen and many others in the city like her will stand firm for Christ, no matter the cost.
