Trang* misses home and even more so during this holiday time. This Friday is the Mid-Autumn Festival, and Trang remembers how excited he was as a child growing up whenever that holiday rolled around. He comes from a small town, and people would decorate with lanterns and there would be games for him and the other children, as well as gifts and mooncakes. He just moved to Ho Chi Minh City last month, and while there are decorations for the holiday, it doesn’t seem the same in a city where things are always decorated with lights. Trang recently met some friends who invited him to a Mid-Autumn party, and he’s really looking forward to a fun time. Maybe it will take away some of his feeling of homesickness. Please lift up Trang, as he’ll have the opportunity to hear the gospel presented at that party. Ask that this will be a time to build a stronger relationship with these new friends, but pray especially that the Good News of Jesus Christ, the Light of the world, will penetrate his heart. Pray that Trang and others at the party will be drawn to make a commitment to Jesus Christ as Lord of his life, and ask that Trang will commit to being discipled and grow in faithfulness and boldness in sharing with others. Pray that Trang will gather other friends like himself who’ve recently arrived in the city and that they will form the basis of a new, multiplying church. (*name changed)
