Think about the last time you really complained—was it because you were stressed and overwhelmed? Out of the mouth, the heart speaks. Mai could complain about the extra load of work she does at her café but instead her infectious smile and her care in making spring rolls is her focus. Vietnamese believers like Mai are hard-working and ready to give praise to God for work opportunities in days like these.
She is learning to flip complaints into blessings by running to Jesus with her discontentment. When she is worn down, she remembers He is her Sustainer. Pray for Vietnamese believers who work long days, give testimony of their faith, and even spend more time outside of work to share the Gospel.
“I don’t say this out of need, for I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am. I know both how to have a little, and I know how to have a lot. In any and all circumstances I have learned the secret of being content—whether well fed or hungry, whether in abundance or in need. I am able to do all things through Him who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:11-13
