The lunar new year begins today and is celebrated in Vietnam as Tết Nguyên Đán or Tết. For Vietnamese this is their most important holiday—most everyone heads back to their hometown to spend time with their families.
During this first day of the lunar new year, the first person who visits a home determines the success or prosperity of the year—-many times they are planned visits to ensure luck for the family. As many believing Vietnamese head back to their homes, pray for the Gospel to be shared and God be invited into homes.
Ask God to reveal Himself to make His Presence known to Vietnamese and understand who Jesus is, just like He did with Peter in Matthew 16:16-17
Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.” Jesus replied, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by my Father in heaven.”
