When Linh* committed her life to the Lordship of Jesus Christ she was transformed. She found blessing and fulfillment like never before and gave testimony of her new life through baptism and discipleship. But she also immediately faced a backlash from her family. Her grandmother stopped speaking to her. Her father forbade her from attending Christian gatherings. Perhaps the strongest persecution found in our city is that from families who oppose the new Believer and seek to draw them back in to traditional spiritual practices. Employers, landlords, and friends regularly give this same negative push back over and above regulations and restrictions that may serve as roadblocks to new church starts.
Pray for God to sustain Believers in the face of opposition and that they will increase in faith. Pray that the Gospel will be boldly proclaimed even in the face of persecution.
“But Peter and the apostles replied, “We must obey God rather than men.” Acts 5:29
