In one of the rural districts of Ho Chi Minh City an early morning market offers items for the practical needs of families. It’s a very simple corner with goods laid out, nothing fancy that would lead to pride.
The world’s wisdom is positioned in pride—a power struggle over who can be the shrewdest and the quickest to outsmart their opponent. 1 Corinthians 1:20 says that ‘wisdom of this world looks foolish’. We need the wisdom of God to wash our thinking and look only to Jesus who also grew in wisdom.
“Remember, dear brothers and sisters, that few of you were wise in the world’s eyes or powerful or wealthy when God called you. Instead, God chose things the world considers foolish in order to shame those who think they are wise. And He chose things that are powerless to shame those who are powerful. As a result, no one can ever boast in the presence of God.” 1 Corinthians 1:26-27,29
Pray for Vietnamese to know God has made Jesus Christ to be wisdom itself.
