The name of this temple translates into the “Temple of Enlightenment”. Father God, please let the monks and people who visit this neighborhood temple be enlightened with the knowledge of the truth of your Gospel. Save them God. Break down the barriers to the Gospel in their hearts and minds and let them no longer follow after the deceit of Satan who offers enlightenment but really only enslaves.
This is a larger temple though still set in the midst of a neighborhood. While we were there we watched a Buddhist worship service taking place as the worshippers walked in circles chanting and praying to the idols. We also had the opportunity to talk with a family that had come to worship as well as several monks including the head monk at the temple. God even gave us the opportunity to present the Gospel to some of the monks and leave a New Testament with one of them. Please pray that they would read the New Testament and the Holy Spirit would speak into their hearts allowing them to see the truth in God’s Word.
There were also several children at the temple. God I pray that you will send more people to share the Gospel with these children. Please God, let them come to you through faith in Jesus. Let these children in turn share the Gospel with their parents and others in the neighborhood. Let this temple be used no more but let there be a new church spring up that will really show God’s Light to this neighborhood.
