We spoke with the caretaker of this Buddhist temple which is on the same grounds as the Vệ Quốc Miểu (ancestor hall). This temple is dedicated to the Buddhist ‘Goddess of Mercy’ which is not uncommon, but the particular idols here were more unique than other temples we have visited. Particularly, this temple includes an idol of the goddess ‘with 1,000 arms’ which is one of her variations and speaks to her desire to help so many people at once.
We prayed and thanked God that He is limitless and that His love is sufficient for all of the peoples of the world. He is not constrained by a lack of arms or reach.
Oh God, You alone are worthy of worship. You see all, know all, are above all, there is nothing You cannot do. We glorify Your Name Almighty God and give You praise and honor. We worship You and thank You as Your lovingkindness knows no bounds.

May the caretakers of this temple and those who worship here or live in the neighborhood come to understand that there is no God but You. Please deliver them from the deception of ancestor worship and goddess worship, and may they come to know that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. We ask that You would reveal Your mercy by helping them hear the gospel plainly, believe in Jesus, be saved, and be discipled. Please raise up a believing, reproducing church in this neighborhood. May the body of Christ reach out in mercy and love to the people in this area.
