Starting from about 60 Cộng Hòa and traveling west along that street there are a number of different shops that sell either ceramic idols or wooden altars for homes.
We visited some of the shops along this street and prayed for the people there. At one shop we spoke with one of the owners, P, who told us that she makes and sells the idols in her shop. She said some people will come and purchase and idol already made and some will want one custom made. P also said that she and her husband place idols in their own home to bring them luck and make them better people. P said that at some point after the idol is made a ‘soul’ will enter the idol and give it power.
We prayed for P and her family and the many people who buy idols and altars at her shop and many more just like it. We prayed that God would give them eyes to see His reality. We prayed that the people would understand that they are worshipping man-made images without power. Please pray with us for the Glory of God to be seen along this street and the Gospel to be proclaimed there.

Sweet Lord Jesus, thank you for your love for these shop owners. You know our tendency to reduce you to an object that we can manipulate. Help these shop owners to understand that you are the creator of the universe, but you are present, in the form of your spirit, not in the form of wood, metal or ceramic
