   I prayed that the people in this neighborhood would find Christ. I prayed that God would open their hearts and minds to Himself. I was touched and saddened by the thought of all the families who come here to worship.

   We spoke with an older man who lives at this ancestor hall and serves as a caretaker. He told us that people first began worshipping ancestors at this place more than 150 years ago. He said that he serves as a caretaker so that it will bring him more luck. Every three years they hold a large festival with singing and prayers for the people of the neighborhood to worship their ancestors. But other people come to this ancestor hall every day to pray and offer incense and fruit and money as a sacrifice. He said the people come to ask that their requests be granted by the spirit of their dead ancestor.

   I prayed that the people would see that while they worship the spirit of one who died, that Jesus died but rose again! I prayed that they would know the power of Jesus to give forgiveness of sins and to bring them into God’s family. I prayed that they would see the reality of eternity and that there is something more than just the life of this world.

   We shared with the man about Jesus. I prayed that he would keep thinking about what we shared and that he would turn his life to God.

   I pray that the name of Jesus will be on the hearts and minds of those at this ancestor hall. May they be drawn to Him. Please, God, give them the spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the true knowledge of You. May this neighborhood be transformed for the glory of God.
