When we went to this ancestor hall we spoke with an older man who had worked at the hall for 24 years. He told us that people come to pray to their dead ancestor (Nguyen Van Dang) who was an early settler in the area where the ancestor hall is located. People come to pray about troubles they have in life or for more money or for help in any area. The committed ones will come and bring an offering or burn incense here as an offering or sacrifice. While we were there a funeral was being held for another person who had died, seemingly without Christ.
These people really need to heard Gospel and know that salvation may be found in Jesus Christ alone. Please pray for the man working at the hall and for the others who visit here that someone will tell them about Jesus. While we were there we prayed and meditated on Romans 1:18-23
For God’s wrath is revealed from heaven against all godlessness and unrighteousness of people who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth, since what can be known about God is evident among them, because God has shown it to them. From the creation of the world His invisible attributes, that is, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what He has made. As a result, people are without excuse. For though they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God or show gratitude. Instead, their thinking became nonsense, and their senseless minds were darkened. Claiming to be wise, they became fools and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal man, birds, four-footed animals, and reptiles.
