We were quite surprised to talk with a lady at this small family temple who told us she had lived there at the temple for 50 years. The temple was built by her family who migrated to Viet Nam from China during the Ming Dynasty. The lady was very friendly to us and even open to our sharing with her about our faith in Jesus Christ and she allowed us to leave a Gospel tract with her. The temple itself looked quite old and some areas not used or cleaned often. There are three main sections of the temple including a ‘Relaxing’ room, a ‘Celebration’ room and a ‘Worship’ or main temple section. She told us that many come here to pray to their ancestors as well as to other gods that are present. There were some special or ‘holy’ chairs set aside that were not to be used by visitors as they were reserved for the gods.
Father God, You alone know all and see all. We can’t know what has moved this lady to stay at this temple for 50 years but you see the needs in her heart. God please lead her to read the tract we gave to her and help her to know Your Son, Jesus Christ. God please bless the family and others who are associated with this temple and help them to look beyond their ancestors and find the truth in You. God please send your servants to this neighborhood that people will hear the Gospel and turn to You and start a new church there.
