Running the Race

Last month Vietnam hosted a visit from the Arsenal soccer team; the national team played them in Hanoi with a final score of 1-7. Apparently Vietnam’s one goal brought the sort of celebration you might expect after a World Cup win!
One Vietnamese man, Tien Xuan Vu, has become an internet star known as the ‘running man’ for his determined pursuit of the Arsenal team bus as it travelled through Hanoi. He sprinted on foot and jumped on the back of motorbikes to follow the bus for several miles ( see footage here http://www.channel4.com/news/arsenals-vietnam-running-man-goes-viral-video) . Eventually the team bus stopped and he was able to meet the players and get their autographs; and this month he was flown to London to be the team mascot for a match against an Italian team.
His passion for a soccer team and his commitment to meet them whatever it took is a real challenge to us as we pray for the gospel to transform Vietnam.
Today pray for believers in Vietnam to have a passion for Jesus Christ and for a commitment to the truth of God’s Word, resulting in changed lives and a vibrant Church.
