Throughout the city you can find countless idol and altar shops. Ceramic idols cast in molds, and larger stone idols chiseled from stone. Idols are placed on home altars, in virtually every business, on the carts of street vendors and on larger altars in temples and shrines. Idols are tangible, they can be seen with physical eyes, touched with the hands of worshipers. For most that ability to see and touch gives them a sense of security, makes them believe it is real.
Pray that God will open the hearts of many in the city to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, leading them to place their faith in God who cannot be seen with their eyes but offers the true certainty of salvation.
“Then He said to Thomas, “Put your finger here and observe My hands. Reach out your hand and put it into My side. Don’t be an unbeliever, but a believer.”
Thomas responded to Him, “My Lord and my God!”
Jesus said, “Because you have seen Me, you have believed. Those who believe without seeing are blessed.” John 20:27-29
