When we stopped to visit this temple there was a crowd of people there who had come to pray for a man who had died 49 days previous. We spoke with a lady who was a friend of the family. She told us that today they were bringing sacrifices and offering prayers so that the man who died would be allowed to go to heaven. She told us that there existed a council of spirits or gods who would decide whether or not the man could go to heaven. She also told us that the family and friends would gather again on the 100th day after his death and then they would hold special meals every year for him on the anniversary of his death.
How do I share with these people who are looking for hope for someone who is dead and already judged? How do I tell them that they must trust in Jesus or face the same consequences as this one who has already died without a relationship with the Savior? God please help this family. Help them in their grief but help them to see through their grief to You. God please touch their hearts and minds, help them to find You. God please send workers to this neighborhood to help them know You.
For there is one God and one mediator between God and man, a man, Christ Jesus, who gave Himself—a ransom for all, a testimony at the proper time. 1 Timothy 2:5-6
